Boston native, Jodi Gray, began her Physical Therapy career as a Cardiac Rehabilitation specialist. Although she found the exercise component enjoyable, her ability to educate her patients on health and wellness served as motivation to transition from therapist to administrator. Jodi advanced her career in Home Health Care before joining with her husband, Ed, to open Avenue Therapy and Wellness in 2007. Her passion led her to develop personal knowledge of the medical aspects of patient care and the importance of one-on-one care coordinating the physical therapy treatment with other disciplines including nursing, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Social Work. As Jodi and Ed opened their second Florida Movement Therapy for Excellence Clinic in Boca Raton, she has been able to combine her administrative experience with the love she has for treating the whole patient.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Ed joined the Navy after graduating from High School. While serving for four years, he earned a degree in electronics and went to work for Cybex, a manufacturer of physical therapy equipment. Exposure to the physical therapy clinics he worked with was the impetus for Ed’s pursuit of a career in physical and occupational therapy. Graduating summa cum laude with an Associate Degree in Physical Therapy from Lynn University was followed by a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Barry University. After 12 years of successfully treating neurological and other disorders as a Physical Therapist and an Occupational Therapist, Ed and his wife, Jodi, opened Avenue Therapy and Wellness, Inc. in Boynton Beach. As demand increased for their services specializing in movement disorders, Ed and Jodi opened a second clinic in Boca Raton and rebranded both clinics as Florida Movement Therapy Centers for Excellence. Ed has become a nationally recognized lecturer and noted expert in the field of movement disorders. Ed and Jodi have two children and reside in Deerfield Beach.
