OUR PROGRAMS

We would like to proudly announce that Florida Movement Therapy Centers has not stopped being vigilant and will continue to be vigilant in all safety precautions regarding COVID-19. We are continuing to implement several policies and guidelines for our patients and employees. We treat the safety of individuals in our centers with the highest-level of importance and these policies are in place to keep everyone safe and healthy. These are a few of the policies are being taken in each of our four locations.

Physical Therapy

Physical therapists are highly-educated, licensed health care professionals who can help patients by improving or restoring mobility. Our therapists evaluate each individual patient and develop a plan of care using techniques to prevent disability, restore function with coordination and safety and reduce pain. Our therapists also create home exercise programs specific to each patient’s needs and teach them how to manage their condition in order to achieve long term health benefits.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapists are also highly-educated, licensed health care professionals who help people restore their everyday functional activities through therapeutic techniques. Our occupational therapists perform an initial evaluation and, along with the patient, establish goals, design a customized treatment plan and ensure that the goals are being met so that the patient is able to safely perform activities at home and in the community.

Speech Therapy

Speech-language professionals are educated and trained to assess speech and language development. They work to treat speech, language, communication, and cognitive-communication disorders in children and adults. Speech therapy is beneficial to patients with neurological disorders because often times the disorder affects the part of the brain that controls speech and language and swallowing. Similar to the other therapists, the speech therapist will evaluate each patient and work with them to establish goals specific to their needs and will establish a treatment plan so that the goals are met.

Cognitive Therapy

Cognitive therapy is beneficial to those affected by a neurological or movement disorder to improve the patient’s thought patterns and behaviors. Repetitive activities, with or without a device, will help develop neuroplasticity, thought reaction times as well as stimulate processing skills.
