GAIT/ BALANCE THERAPY

At Florida Movement Therapy Centers, we specialize in therapy for gait and posture to address the pattern of limb movements during walking and improve the body’s ability to maintain its center of gravity. Our balance and mobility therapy focuses on helping patients regain their ability to stay upright and move efficiently. VESTIBULAR THERAPY

Therapy provided by experienced therapists to treat disturbances in the body’s balance system caused by head injuries, viral infections, or the aging process. This specialized therapy addresses issues affecting the inner earcentral nervous system, or both, helping to restore balance and improve overall stability.

COGNITIVE THERAPY

Therapy provided by our Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and Occupational Therapists (OTs) focuses on enhancing cognitive-linguistic skills such as memory, executive functioning, problem-solving, reasoning, attention, and orientation. ORTHOPEDIC THERAPY

Therapy provided by our Physical Therapists (PT) and Occupational Therapists (OT) to treat injuries to the musculoskeletal system, including bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and cartilage. SWALLOW THERAPY

Therapy provided by our Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) to strengthen the muscles of the tongue and throat, improving the ability to swallow foods, liquids, medications, and even saliva. This specialized therapy focuses on enhancing swallowing function to ensure safe, efficient, and comfortable eating and drinking, particularly for patients with neurological disorders, stroke recovery, or other conditions affecting swallowing.

SPEAK OUT!® THERAPY

Parkinson’s Voice Project including SPEAK OUT!® Therapy, is a specialized treatment designed to help individuals with Parkinson’s diseaseimprove their speech and swallowing abilities. By focusing on strengthening the muscles used for speaking and swallowing, this therapy aims to enhance vocal volume, clarity, and communication skills. SPEAK OUT!® Therapy specifically targets vocal intensity and articulation through a combination of speech exercises, promoting clearer speech and better communication. This therapy also addresses swallowing difficulties often associated with Parkinson’s, helping patients regain confidence in their ability to speak and eat. The GIGER MD® THERAPY

The Giger MD machine is a state-of-the-art device designed to improve motor function, strengthen muscles, and reduce misalignment and spasticity. It also enhances cardiovascular and respiratory functions, supporting overall physical health. By providing targeted, controlled movements, the Giger MD helps patients regain mobility, improve posture, and optimize muscle coordination, making it an effective tool for rehabilitation in treating neurological disorders, musculoskeletal conditions, and movement impairments.

STICK IT THERAPY

Stick Mobility uses specially designed mobility sticks to enhance mobility, stability, and strength through joint mobilization, end-range strength training, and active stretching. These versatile sticks are utilized to perform dynamic, controlled movements that improve flexibility, increase range of motion, and build strength. By targeting key muscle groups and joint areas, Stick Mobility is an effective tool for improving overall functional movement, supporting rehabilitation, and enhancing performance in both everyday activities and athletic pursuits.

DYNAVISION & SMARTfit™

The Dynavision D2™ and SMARTFit™ devices are designed to improve cognitive reactions, coordination, reaction time, proprioception, and visual acuity. These advanced tools use interactive exercises to stimulate brain function, enhance motor skills, and sharpen sensory processing, making them effective for boosting overall cognitive and physical performance.

ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING (ADL) RETRAINING

Occupational Therapists help individuals overcome challenges related to Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) caused by illness, injury, disability, age, or cognitive decline. They assist with essential tasks such as dressing, bathing, mobility, and eating, empowering patients to regain independence and improve their quality of life.
